Parish of Birnie and Pluscarden
   

Welcome to our website.

Pluscarden Church and Birnie Kirk were linked in 1972. On the retiral of the previous Minister, the charge was united and then linked to Elgin High in 2004.
Our Minister, Rev. Julie M. Woods, was called to the linked charge in September 2005.
Our Associate Minister, Rev. Douglas F. Stevenson was appointed in April 2008.
Our Pastoral Assistant, Mrs. Paula Baker was appointed in July 2007.
Our ministry team is now complete.



Pluscarden Church
  Pluscarden Church, constructed from local stone, was built in 1898 and is of typical early 'Scotch Gothic' architectural design. The most prominent feature being the tower surmounted by a red tile spire.

The Church is situated in the heart of Pluscarden Glen approximately 6 miles West of Elgin on the B9010.

Birnie Kirk was built about 1140 on a site occupied by the Celtic Church associated with St. Brendan the Navigator. The church is situated approximately 2 miles south of Elgin between the A941 Elgin to Rothes road and the B9010 Elgin to Kellas road.   Birnie Kirk - south side
